Bar Cala Restaurante, Cala Figuera, Majorca

by thewelltraveledroad

While visiting Cala Figuera, I wanted to stop for lunch somewhere where we could sit outside and absorb the view of this beautiful fishing village. Bar Cala Restaurante seemed like the perfect place, not just because it had both indoor and outdoor seating, but mainly because it was the only restaurant overlooking the water that was open at lunchtime when we were visiting in the off season. Whether for the food, the view or the convenience, several others felt the same way and the establishment was filled with customers. I’m not gonna lie – service was slow. Possibly because Bar Cala Restaurante was THE place to be for lunch. The waitstaff zipped this way and that trying to take care of the onslaught of hungry customers. We were no exception. We saw plate after plate of salads and seafood being delivered. As for us, the omlettes on the menu sounded like they would hit the spot. Were the omelets worth the wait? Indeed they were. Not only were they cooked to perfection, they came with a side order of bread and a lovely side of sliced tomatoes and onions. Although the combination was simple, it was fresh and delicious.

If you are looking for a quick bite, this may not be the place for you. However, if you have a bit of time to appreciate the view while you wait for a great lunch at a reasonable price, Bar Cala Restaurante could be the place for you. It’s open daily from 8am – 12am.
