Light of the World Sculpture Garden, Thanksgiving Point

by thewelltraveledroad

If you want to “Experience the teachings of Jesus Christ through art and nature”, then head over to Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah.  Within Ashton Gardens is the Light of the World Sculpture Gardens, which is a 2.5 acre area containing 35 larger than life bronze sculptures.

The Light of the World Sculpture Garden is the world’s largest interactive sculpture garden featuring the miracles and teachings of Christ.

The sculptures are the creations of the talented Angela Johnson and 15 amazing larger-than-life scenes from the life and death of Christ.  Each of the scenes is accompanied by a bronze plaque with the scripture reference of the story in the New Testament. The sculptures are full of beauty and detail. Although all are impressive, some of my favorites include Christ raising Lazarus from the dead, and the woman caught in adultery.

For current hours, head over to the Ashton Gardens website.  While you are there, check out their calendar.  You may be able to coordinate your visit with one of the many activities or concerts scheduled throughout the year at Ashton Gardens or elsewhere within Thanksgiving Point.  For those with limited mobility, golf carts are available for rent, although they will need to be parked outside of the Light of the World Sculpture Garden.
